Water scarcity in the Mediterranean induces an increase of water users in the hydro systems: with no risks?

The relevance of global change impacts on water quality and availability in Mediterranean river basins of the Iberian Peninsula, as well as, their impacts on the ecosystem services, human society and economy was discussed during the 3rd SCARCE Annual Conference, organised by the Institute of Environmental Diagnosis and Water Studies (IDAEA) from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia. I. La Jeunesse, C. Cirelli, C. Larrue and D. Aubin held during this scientific meeting a presentation on the topic “Water scarcity in the Mediterranean induces an increase of water users in the hydro systems: with no risks?”.
